The Yale Young African Scholars Program: Applications Open

The Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) program is now accepting applications for its 2019 Program. Operated by Yale University, YYAS is an eight day intensive academic and enrichment program designed for African secondary school students who plan to pursue tertiary education and who wish to make an impact as young leaders on the African continent. During the program, participants will cultivate their academic skills, receive university admission and financial aid application guidance, and join a network of young leaders from across Africa. At the end of the program, students will be paired with mentors who will provide them advice and guidance throughout the university application process. The application deadline is 06 FEBRUARY 2019 at 11:59pm EST.

There are no tuition fees, lodging fees, or meal costs for YYAS.

YYAS will be held in three locations in 2019:

Ghana | 25 July – 01 August

Kenya | 07 August – 14 August

Zimbabwe | 18 August – 25 August

The Yale Young African Scholars Program is a partner of the Higherlife Foundation and is a member of the HALI Access Network. The program receives  additional support from The Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale.
